Welcome to My Personal Page
Hi Everyone, many of you know my story. My mom Bea (nanie to the grandchildren) died of stage 4 lung cancer 9 years ago. From the moment we found out that mom had cancer, I was determined to join this fight against cancer! I completed my first ever bike ride 9 years ago in the Trek Across Maine and the next year to my surprise I had over 15 of my friends and family join me! We needed to create a team name to honor mom and we came up with Nanie’s Busy Beas! We completed the trek for a few more years but then we got involved with Champion the Cure and loved it from the beginnning!
This year we will be participating in CTC again, but I have decided to do something in addition to the 10k run, with all of the money I raise going to Champion the Cure.
For some time I have had completing a marathon on my bucket list, and 2019 is the year I am going to do this! On October 5th I will be running my first marathon; ending at Stillwater Park in Bangor right across from where I grew up. My Goal for this is $2500 with all the money going back to Champion the Cure!
For anyone that hasn’t had to sit in an oncologist office to hear that their loved one or themself has cancer, I hope you never have to endure that. It was 10 1/2 years ago that I heard the words the doctor said to my mom “Bea you have stage 4 lung cancer.” I wish I could erase it from my memory but I can’t and maybe this is why I am doing this. I want to help beat cancer, I want families to have their loved ones with them to share in the memories that we couldn’t have with my mom.
So I am asking you please help me win this war against cancer! ANY donation helps me to get to my goal of $2500!
I can’t thank you enough!
With Love, Heidi
