Last March my sister, Amanda, was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, with a mass in her abdomen that carried many adjectives, and the one that sticks in my mind the most was "impressive." The first week of diagnosis was a blurr, however, that first week also became the beginning of an ultimate fight for survival, starting with Amanda. For without her determination to fight and win, the outcome could have been very different. She carried along with her, everyday, the love and support from her family, friends, co-workers, community and a tremendous medical team. Cancer has touched our family in many ways, this being the most difficult for me. My goal is for people to understand and realize how important science is, for without it, there would be no cures. Please join me in our fight for the survivors and those working on being cancer free. Join the fight, join the COST CUREsaders, join this walk and bring hope and help to those who are fighting the battle. Thank you Amanda for fighting and winning. My hero.
